Growth charts

Keep an eye on your puppies development with our Royal Canin growth charts!

A growth chart is important to ensure that a puppy is developing normally and to identify potential health problems early on.

Regularly record the weight of your puppies in the puppy center app. Your values are automatically transferred into the growth charts and presented as PDF. This way, you can immediately see from the percentiles whether your dog's growth is within the normal range.

A healthy weight starts with healthy growth.

A healthy weight can significantly extend your dog\'s lifespan (from a few months to more than two years difference in different publications).

So, depending on their adult size and the intensity of their growth, dogs should have a certain "speed" of growth - that is, they should not reach their adult weight before a certain age (this can be between 10 and 18-24 months, depending on size and breed).

The problem is often that overweight but still growing animals usually do not look overweight - they just grow too fast, which puts strain on their entire body, especially bones and joints.

Small breeds tend to be obese for the rest of their lives, larger dogs are simply too heavy for their immature skeleton and can develop serious orthopedic problems - just due to energy overload and increased, rapid growth.

Larger dogs should therefore grow more slowly compared to their adult weight.

Why is it important to monitor your puppies\'s weight?

In adult dogs you can see at first glance whether they are overweight - with growing dogs you should monitor the body weight very closely!

Tip

So weigh your puppy regularly (daily at the beginning and at least once a week from the age of 3 months) and compare the weight curve with our growth charts.
